Southeast Community College’s Calvin Freeman finished in a four-way tie for second place at 3-under-par at last week’s National Junior College Athletic Association Division II National Tournament held at the Par 72, 7,145 yard Goose Pond Colony in Scottsboro, AL.

Calvin Freeman, a Humboldt-TR-S alum and currently a golfer for Southeast Community College in Beatrice, is tied for 14^th place after two rounds of the NJCAA Division II National Tournament at Goose Pond Colony in Scottsboro, Alabama.

The Falls City Travelers are starting its 17th softball season, and 50 girls are playing in five different age groups.

Due to the lack of practice facilities at Fiedler Ball complex, the 2013 Summer recreation ball season will be pushed back 1-week.

Falls City Sacred Heart made a clean sweep of the Class D District 1 track tournament held Wednesday in Auburn, as both the boys’ and girls’ teams took home championships.

The Sacred Heart School Activities Banquet was held at O’Connor Hall Saturday night, with a packed house enjoying a potluck meal.

Athletes from both Falls City Sacred Heart and Falls City High   competed at last Monday’s Auburn Junior Varsity Invitational. Schools were allowed to enter more competitors, both varsity and junior varsity, due to the cancellations of so many events.
