Due to weather, today’s Falls City Invitational at Falls City has been canceled.

The Syracuse High School Track and Field Invitational scheduled for today has been canceled due to weather and will not be made up.

Three Falls City High golfers finished in the top five and four medaled in the Tigers first place finish at Humboldt-TR-S Invitational played in chilly, damp conditions at Kirkman’s Lakeview Golf Course on Thursday, Apr. 9^th.

Falls City High head wrestling coach Roger Windle will not return to coach a 21st season for the Tigers, according to Falls City High Principal Gale Dunkhas.

After a pair of postponements, track season finally got underway last week for the Falls City High.

Three FC Middle School eighth grade wrestlers earned second-place finishes in the season’s final tournament at Gretna. Deven Nycum and Brett Black, who both wrestle at 125 pounds, went 2-1 in Gretna and 179-pound Carter Hunzeker won one and lost one. The loss in Gretna was Black’s first of the season and he finished 5-1.

Consistent play guided the Falls City High Tiger varsity golf team to a six-stroke victory last Tuesday at Auburn Country Club.

The Falls City High track meet scheduled for Tuesday, Mar. 26th has been cancelled. No make-up date has been announced.

The finality and suddenness of “win or go home” games wasn’t lost on any one with a dog, or in this case a Tiger or Crusader, in the fight last night in Nebraska City as fourth-ranked Falls City High and seventh-ranked Lincoln Christian battled each other to the bitter end for the Class C1-1 district title and more importantly, a birth in the state tournament.

The 2013 NSAA State Wrestling Championships came and went quickly for three Falls City High wrestlers all wrestling in their first state tournament.
