Weather curtails Tiger track team, again

The Syracuse High School Track and Field Invitational scheduled for today has been canceled due to weather and will not be made up.

Forecasts are calling for conditions to worsen throughout the day. Falls City High was scheduled to compete in the invitational, which was originally set for April 12 and rescheduled for today.

No decision has been made regarding the Falls City High Invitational planned for tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for a high of 44 degrees with cloudy, breezy conditions and a chance of snow early in the day.

Today’s cancellation was the second in a row for the Tiger track team, which was scheduled to travel to Platteview last Thursday. All told, Mother Nature has affected three of Falls City’s five scheduled meets. The Tigers hosted a quad on March 26, then turned around and competed in the Nebraska City Invitational a week later, but have not competed since.

Things could pick up this week though, weather permitting of course, as the Tigers are scheduled to host their invite tomorrow, travel to Hiawatha, KS, Thursday and to Ashland-Greenwood next Monday. Falls City was originally supposed to open their season at Ashland-Greenwood on March 22nd.
