Joan M. Wist, 85, of Omaha, passed away, Jan. 29, 2019 in Omaha. She was born November 24, 1933 on a farm near Rulo to John and Margaret Goltz.
Joan grew up there and attended the Red Brick School District 53, graduating from Falls city High School in 1951. Joan married Marvin J. Wist of Verdon on April 14, 1956 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 20th and Towle in Falls City. He passed away on June 10, 1995. They moved to Omaha where the was employed at Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company until retiring.
Joan is survived by her son Gary and his wife Sharon of Omaha; granddaughters, Carrie (Tony) Davis, Persia, IA; Carla Wist, Omaha; great-grandson, Xander Davis; and a great-grandson on the way; sisters, Mary Little of Falls City; Marge (Dave) Gubser Conroe, TX and Dorothy (John) Price, Rulo; Sisters-In-Law, Helen Goltz, Rulo, Doloris Heineman, Lee Summit, MO, Dorothy Haugen, Lincoln and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Marvin and Donald and sister, Evelyn Brown.
A funeral service was held February 5, 2019 at Heafey, Hoffmann-Dworak and Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Lincoln, officiating following by burial in Evergreen Memorial Park in Omaha.
