Larry Kuker, 81, of Verdon, NE, passed away December 4, 2020, in Falls City. He was born April 28, 1939 on the family farm in Barada to Melvin and Marcille (Parchen) Kuker.
He married Fayrene Kessler on August 23, 1969 in Omaha, NE
Larry served in the Nebraska National Guard for six years.
Larry was raised north of Verdon and graduated from Shubert High School in 1957. He then farmed with his father on the family farm. When married the couple made their home north of Verdon and he continued to farm and raise livestock his entire life. He also drove a bus for Southeast Consolidated School for many years and was also a substitute bus driver for HTRS for five years and also working at the score table for many years. In 1988 they move to the current family farm. He was a member of Shubert Christian Church for 65 years, where he held offices as trustee, deacon and elder. He also served as a Chairman of the Board for several years.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Fayrene of Verdon, children, Kevin and his wife Lori A. of Bennington and their children Elizabeth and Emma,, Karen Schulte and her husband Brent of Berryton, KS and their children, Abigayle, Audrey and Andrew, Kristen Lovell and her husband Rolland of Valparaiso and their child, Cortni, Kyle and his wife Lori M. of Shubert and their children David and Danyelle, sisters, Beverly Brown of Shubert, Barbara Lundy of Stella, and brothers, Garland and his wife Lila of Shubert, Daryl and his wife Pam of Dodge City, KS, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, brother Melvin Kuker, Jr., and brother-in-law Allen “Bub” Brown.
His funeral will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Shubert Christian Church with ministers Jackie Gfeller and Michael Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in Harris Cemetery
Seating will be limited and masks are required. Services will be streamed on Dorr and Clark Funeral Home’s Facebook page. The service will also be broadcast on 88.7 FM if you are near the church.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
Family prefers memorials to the Shubert Christian Church or family choice.
