Helen E. Schlosser

Helen E. Schlosser, 87, of Falls City, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Falls City. She was born Nov. 11, 1926 at Falls City to the late Godferd and Elizabeth (Bertram) Hunker.

On June 12, 1944 she married Francis A. Schlosser at Falls City. He passed away June 27, 1997.

Helen was raised in Falls City and when married the couple established their home in Salem. In 1949 they moved to Shubert, and into Falls City in 1988. She was an avid crocheter, cook, and loved playing her organ. Her and her husband spent many Saturdays dancing at the Elks Lodge. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Falls City, the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters.

Helen is survived by her sons, Raymond Carl (Connie), of Kansas City, MO, Joseph L. (Judy), of Shubert; daughter-in-law, Linda Schlosser of Omaha; brother, Donald “Jack” Hunker, of Berkley, MI; sister, Viola “Shorty” Lear, of Hiawatha, KS; four granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; three sisters; sons, Fred, James, Michael and Frank Schlosser; grandchildren, Diane and Aaron Schlosser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Msgr. Robert A. Roh as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.

A Catholic Daughters Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Thursday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends following the Parish Rosary.
