JOHN SIMON

John Simon, 66, of Falls City, passed away on Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 at Falls City. He was born April 1, 1949 at Falls City to the late Clarence and Frances (Morrell) Simon.

John was raised at Falls City and graduated from FC Sacred Heart in 1967. He attended South Dakota State College, where he played football, and then attended Peru State College. He moved to Houston, TX, and became a master plumber. He was a member of Plumbers Union Local 68 in Houston and worked in commercial construction. He moved to Falls City in 1990, where he owned and operated Irish Plumbing and joined Plumbers Union Local 16 at Omaha. He retired from plumbing due to his health. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Falls City. He married Becky Ecles in 1981 and they were later divorced in 1993.

John is survived by his son, Chance, of Falls City; daughter, Heather Simon, of Orange County, CA; brothers, Mike (Lorna) Simon and Bill (CeCe) Simon, and sisters, Nancy (Ron) Kelley and Jannie McNeely, all of Falls City. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Dunavan officiating. Inurnment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends afterwards.
