Mary Ann Steinman

Mary Ann Steinman, 70, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her home in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mary Ann was born February 1, 1947 in Pittsburg, CA, the daughter of Walter and Gladys (Pruett) West. At age 14 after her father’s passing, she and her mother moved to Stella, to be near family. She attended Stella High School, then studied at Peru State College, eventually earning a Business Degree from St. Mary’s College in Orinda, CA.

Mary Ann married Keith Stanley in 1963 at the Stella Community Church in Stella, to this union two sons were born, they later separated. She married John Steinman in 1974 in Falls City, they later separated. Mary Ann owned Pandora’s Box Hallmark Card and Gift Shop in Falls City. She was a member of the Falls City Chamber of Commerce along with other professional business organizations.

In 1987, she moved back to California and worked for Hallmark and Lincoln Financial Group. Mary Ann returned to Nebraska in 2012, settling in Lincoln to be near her granddaughters. Mary Ann had a strong faith and enjoyed home and interior design, classic movies, and travel, especially to Lake Tahoe, CA.

Mary Ann is survived by her sons, Greg (Didi) Stanley of Antioch, CA and Scott (Rae) Stanley of Lincoln, NE; six grandchildren, Morgan Jennings, Margaux Stanley, Ella Stanley, Chloe Stanley, Taylor Stanley and Celeste Marcus; great grandson, Jimmy Drummond; along with nephews, George Ball, Tony Ball, Mitchell Ball, and Gordon Ball.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Russell Ball.

A Memorial Service is 11:00am, Tuesday, September 19, at the Stella Community Church in Stella, Nebraska, with Reverend David McGowan officiating.
