Harry R. Fritz Jr. (Rick), 67, passed away September 19, 2017 at his home in Falls City. He was born August 31, 1950 in Emporia, KS the son of Harry R. Sr. and Mildred J. Neel Fritz.
Rick attended Hartford High School and graduated with the Class of 1968. Following graduation, he joined the United States Navy, proudly serving during the Vietnam War. On December 13, 1978 Rick was awarded an honorable discharge for his service and received the combat action ribbon.
Rick was a life member of the VFW Post 1980 of Emporia and past member of A.B.A.T.E. District 12 of Kansas. He also held membership in the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers Local 218 of Emporia. Rick loved riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing.
He will live on in the hearts of his son, Nathan C. Fritz and daughter, Donita M. Ireland and her husband, Claude; four grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Banister and her husband Frank of Hartford, Marilyn Fritz of Emporia and Jona Goza and her husband Harry of Emporia; numerous nieces and nephews; countless friends and riding buddies.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is planned for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Memorial contributions may be made to the U.S.D. 252 SLC Honor Flight and sent in care of the funeral home. vanarsdalefs.com.
