Robert C. Gibbs, 73 of Falls City, NE passed away December 28, 2019, in Topeka, KS. He was born January 22, 1946, to Robert and Laura (Miner) Gibbs in Falls City. Robert was raised in Reserve, KS, and graduated from Reserve High School in 1964. He attended Highland Junior College receiving an Associate’s Degree in business. Following his schooling, he joined the United States Navy, was stationed in San Diego, CA, and served on the USS Ranger during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he returned to San Diego, where he met, on a blind date, and married Sharyn Wilkins on November 26, 1971. Bob was an electronic programmer working with computers. In 1998 the couple moved to Falls City and purchased and opened the Falls City Flower Shop. Bob worked for Community Medical Center for 13 years of programming computers.
He retired in 2009, and they sold the flower shop. Bob was a quiet gentleman who was always willing to help others. He loved his many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, word-working, and beekeeping. He served as a Boy Scout leader for many years when living in California. To say he was an avid football fan is an understatement. He was a member of Falls City Elks Lodge #963, Ducks Unlimited, NRA, VFW, and American Legion.
He is survived by wife, Sharyn, Falls City, daughter, Kimberly Gibbs, Lincoln, NE, son Todd Gibbs, Escondido, CA, his favorite dog Lucy and a sister, Barbara (Jerry) Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
