Francis L. Luginbill, 80, of Falls City, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Falls City. She was born March 10, 1935 at Falls City to the late Peter and Mary (Willey) Luginbill.
Francis was a retired member of the U.S. Air Force.
He married Tina Vanderpoole and they were later divorced. He married Christina Hudson on May 30, 1973 at Alamogordo, NM. She passed away April 1, 2010
Francis was raised in Richardson County and enlisted in the Air Force, where he earned his GED.He was honorably discharged and retired in 1974. He worked various jobs and then attended Southeast Community College at Lincoln and graduated in 1980 as a welder. He worked as a welder in various places throughout Nebraska. He retired in 1992 and moved to Falls City.
He was a member of the Verdon Congregational Church and had been a deacon, as well as a member, of DAV Chapter 43, of Falls City.
Francis is survived by his sons, Charles (Marsha) Luginbill, of Lincoln, and Leroy (Val) Luginbill, and Peter (Lynn) Luginbill, both of Washington, DC; daughters, Patricia Luginbill, of Houma, LA, Jackie (Bob) Schaeffer, of Norwalk, OH, and Kimberly Lange, of Lincoln; step-children, Michael (Brenda) Patnode and Tammy (Dave) Carter, both of Falls City; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, John Carter, Lloyd and Fred Blevins and Wayne Luginbill; sister, Daisy Dunn; grandsons, Nicholas Luginbill, Marc Cepurnieks, D.J. Daigle; granddaughter, Jill Patnode.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at First Christian Church with Rev. Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Friday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, Falls City.
