The first annual Tanner Shelby Merz Memorial Cruise will be held this Saturday at the Elks Club in Falls City. Registration is from 9-11 a.m. All motorists – bikes, cars, trucks, etc. – are welcome to participate.
Cost is $25 per rider and the proceeds will go toward a scholarship for a Falls City High School student in Tanner’s name.
Tanner, a 2010 graduate of FCHS and the son of Marc and Sally (Jones) Merz, was killed in a car accident March 30 of this year. The 21-year-old was attending Midland Lutheran College at Fremont, studying teaching and coaching. He was also coaching wrestling at North Bend Public Schools.
The cruise will begin and end at The Elks, with riders stopping at Hickory Road in Auburn for lunch.
