Rose Eileen Bartling

Rose Eileen Bartling, 100, of Syracuse, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She was born Aug. 22, 1912, in rural Unadilla to Henry D. and Edla A. (Van Meter) Stubbendieck.
Rose married Herman W. Bartling on Jan. 18, 1933 at St. John’s Evangelical Church in Syracuse. She worked in the Dairy Sweet, shoe store and bakery, all in Syracuse. Rose was a member of the Extension Club (Russell Creek), Hospital Aux., St. John’s U.C.C. Women’s Fellowship and card party groups
Rose is survived by her daughter, Rosita Kreifels, of Falls City; sons, Larry (Marcia) Bartling, of Syracuse, Randall (Rhonda) Bartling, of Grand Island; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and her bother, Roy Stubbendick, of Lincoln.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Edla Stubbendieck; husband, Herman; brother, Dale Stubbendick; great grandchild, Olivia Bartling; grandchild, Jennifer Wesley; son-in-law, Mark Kreifels.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 511 7th St., Syracuse, with burial at Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse. Family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers to a food pantry in your town in Rose Bartling’s name.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, June 7, with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.
