One seriously injured in two vehicle collision near Dubois

The Richardson County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two vehicle injury accident, which occurred at about noon on Monday. The accident happened on 708 Road, one-half mile east of the Pawnee County/Richardson County line near Dubois.

 

The collision occurred when two trucks met unexpectedly at the crest of a hill on a gravel road.

The driver of the westbound truck, 23-year-old Andrew Rogge of Dubois, sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries. Andrew was transported to Pawnee City Hospital by Humboldt Rescue and was later taken by Lifenet helicopter to another medical facility. Humboldt Fire and Rescue used the jaws of life to extricate Rogge from the vehicle.

39-year-old Terry Bowhay, of Dubois, was the driver of the eastbound truck. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to Pawnee City Hospital.

Both vehicles were a total loss.

The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office and Humboldt Fire and Rescue were involved in assisting the injured at the scene.
