Paul Bennett Weaver, born on September 30, 1944, in Falls City, Nebraska, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2025, at the age of 80.
Paul was devoted to following Jesus. A faithful member of Eddyville Community Church, he lived out his faith in both words and actions, demonstrating kindness and a servant’s heart. Whether supporting his family, helping a friend in need, or giving back to his community, Paul’s selflessness was a reflection of his faith. His life was shaped by his deep gratitude for the grace given to him by the Lord. That thankfulness overflowed into every aspect of his life, leading him to serve others with humility and love. He found joy in helping others, offering encouragement, and sharing God’s love through his generosity and unwavering compassion.
Paul was also known for his tremendous sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh, whether with a perfectly timed joke, a playful prank, or a warm-hearted story. His quick wit and infectious laughter brought joy to those around him, and his ability to lighten any situation was a gift that his family and friends will dearly miss.
Paul was dedicated to his career as a locomotive engineer with Southern Pacific (Union Pacific), where he worked until his retirement. He took great pride in his work, mentoring new engineers and forming lifelong friendships along the way. His strong work ethic and integrity were admired by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Janet Weaver, his brothers Lawrence and Donald Weaver, and his first wife, Susan Spiger Weaver.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Letha, his daughters; Jennifer, Kristine, Gretchen, and Taigen, four sons in-law, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his faith, devotion, and laughter.
A service to honor Paul’s life will be held at Eddyville Community Church on June 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eddyville Community Church for their roof project in Paul’s memory.
Paul’s life was a testament to his faith, and his legacy of love, service, and devotion to God will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
