Ted Phroper, 57, of Cortland, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017. He was born May 1, 1960 at Falls City to Mike and Doris (Mackey) Phroper.
Ted served in the Nebraska National Guard Reserves at Falls City Company B.
He married Gail Smith on April 3, 1978 at Hiawatha, KS.
Ted was raised at Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1978. Following graduation, he became employed by the Falls City Meat Co. and when the couple moved to Lincoln he opened and operated Phroper’s Fish Market. He became employed by Lincoln Public Schools for four years before he started Kleen Building Service, a commercial cleaning service he operated until his retirement in 2013.
Ted is survived by his wife, Gail, of Cortland; daughters, Mandy (Ben) Mueller, of Cozad, Brandy (Justin) Keller, of Eustis, and Samantha (Dustin) Vernon, of Lincoln; son, D’Angelo Phroper, of Cortland; father, Mike Phroper, Falls City; brothers, Michael Ray (Mira) Phroper, of Nebraska, Cliff (Julie) Phroper, of Falls City, Bob (Sabrina) Phroper, of Branson, MO, and Bill (Chris) Phroper, of Falls City; sister, Julie Ann (Wes) Willey, of Falls City; grandchildren, Hailey Phroper, Alyssa Vernon, Dexter Mueller and Beckett Keller.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at Steele Cemetery. No viewing or visitation.
