Albert D. Zimmerman

Albert D. Zimmerman, 71, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, in Lincoln after a short illness.

He was born to Albert and Ruth Zimmerman in Falls City on Oct. 1, 1941.  Albert married Connie Teater on Nov. 11, 1961.  They later divorced.  On June 20, 1998, he married Anita Wince.

Over the years, Albert moved between Falls City, Lincoln, California and Washington State.  He was drafted in 1966 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, where he was communication chief of F Troop, becoming a Corporal by the end of his duty as a US Marine in 1968.

Albert had a long career as a welder, which ended in his retirement from Gram Steel in Kirkland, WA.  He and his wife, Anita, moved back to Falls City in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, sports and his family.

He is survived by his children, Darren and Cari Zimmerman, Michelle Zimmerman and Tommy Gainey, Penny and John Glasscock, Mike and Carol Forbes, and Leo Wendland, Lincoln, and Julie and Bill Hessling, Polynette, WI, brother, Dale and Teri Zimmerman, sisters, Irene and Richard Ealy, Indiana, and Nancy Willey, Preston, foster daughter, Lutricia Tackett, Beatrice, and six grandchildren.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Anita, his parents, Albert and Ruth Zimmerman, his brothers, Allen and Joe Zimmerman, sisters, Norma Harmon, Barbara Guilliams, Betty Cornell, Patty Kruzburg and Teri Buckley.

His body has been cremated.  Graveside services with honor guard will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, at Steele Cemetery for Albert and Anita Zimmerman.
