ELDON ‘KEITH’ FRYER SR.

Eldon “Keith” Fryer Sr., 80, of Lander, WY, passed away peacefully on Nov. 19, 2016 with his family at his side. Keith was born June 6, 1936 in Falls City, one of 10 children born to Lloyd and Mary (Rhoads) Fryer.

He graduated from Falls City High in 1954, joined the U.S. Air Force on Jan. 31, 1955 and was honorably discharged Nov. 28, 1958.

He married the love of his life, Barbara Ann (Humphrey) Fryer, on March 25, 1961. To this union were born four children: Mitchell, Keith Jr., Lori and Lisa.

He was employed at Union Carbide in Gas Hills, WY, as a heavy equipment mechanic and operator for several years until the closing of the mine. In 1987, he enrolled in and graduated from Wyoming Technical Institute as an ASE Certified automotive mechanic. He held many jobs throughout his lifetime, beginning work at the age of 10. His latest employment was at Lander Lube and Wash as a lube tech/mechanic, retiring in October 2015 due to failing health.
His many hobbies included hunting, fishing, and mechanics, spoiling his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Ann Fryer on Nov. 19, 1999; son, Keith Jr.; granddaughter, Tishina; sisters, Elaine Hutson, Thelma Douglas, Jeanine Strecker, Mary Langley and Rebbeca Fryer; and a brother, Jerry Fryer.

He is survived by his children, Mitchell and Dori Fritz, of Sinclair, WY, Lori and Gary Willis and Lisa and Alan McOmie, all of Lander; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and siblings Marcia and Randy Blanton, Carol and Tom Voyles, Lynn Fryer and Nancy Fryer; along with many nieces and nephews.

As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lander.
