Doris (Weaver) Glenn

Doris (Weaver) Glenn, 96, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

She was born in Falls City on July 31, 1916, the daughter of Anna (Crook) Weaver and Paul Bennett Weaver. She attended Falls City Public Schools and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she received a BA degree in Fine Arts and Sculpture.

On June 15, 1940, she married William V. Glenn, M.C., F.A.C.S., and, in 2001, they celebrated 61 years of marriage. In 1952, they moved to Falls City where they remained until 1970, when health issues forced her husband to relocate to San Antonio, TX. Following the death of her husband in 2001, she relocated to Lincoln in 2004 and resided in Bickford Cottage until her death.

Doris was a member of The PEO Chapter Y and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include four children, William V. (Roxanne) Glenn Jr., MD, Torrance, CA, Lucinda G. Gess and Robert W. (Mary Ellen) Glenn, D.D.S., M.S., Lincoln, and M. Elizabeth Glenn (Michael) Chovanec, M.D., Memphis, TN; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Anna and P.B. Weaver, her husband, William V. Glenn Sr., all of her siblings, Bennet Weaver, Archibald Weaver, Martha Weir, Mary Ann Neil, Lawrence Weaver and Christobel Welch, infant siblings Ralph Edward Weaver and Anna

Lucinda Weaver, son-in-law Richard S. Gess and granddaughter, Leslie Gess Wilkie.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Bible Church, 6201 S. 84th Street, Lincoln, 68516 at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your personal choice.
