Martha Hutfles, 92, of Falls City, passed away June 24, 2019, in Falls City. She was born August 17, 1926, in St. Marys, KS to Joseph and Johanna (Bokern) Boeckman.
She married Leo Hutfles on April 11, 1945, in Kelly, KS. He passed away on April 21, 2016.
Martha was raised in Kelly, KS, and following her schooling, she worked various jobs in and around Kelly. When married, the couple established their home a couple of miles south of Kelly on a farm for three years before moving to Falls City in 1948. She was a homemaker until her children were raised then became a cook at Sacred Heart School and was known for her cinnamon rolls. She retired in 1990. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Martha is survived by her son, Steve and his wife Cathy of Falls City, daughter, Karen Pfister and her husband Tim of Falls City, brothers, Les Boeckman of Topeka, KS, Jerry Boeckman of Hiawatha, KS, Ken Boekman and his wife Mary of Seneca, KS, nine grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, C. B. “Beck” Boeckman, sisters, Bernice Smith, Helen Honeyman and Marcella in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Stoley officiating. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with family receiving friends following the rosary.
