Emma Georgia Stout Wiar, 89, Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursdya, Dec. 18, 2014 at NorthCare Hospice House, surrounded by family. She was born Sept. 2, 1925 in Cherokee, OK, to the late Leonard T. and Mellie Mae Staley Stout.
The family moved to Falls City, where she met and married Eugene Kahle Wiar. She was a graduate of Park College, Parkville, MO, and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone. She was active in many charities, including Soroptomist International, NKC Hospital Auxiliary and Shepherds Center. She served on the NKC City Council.
Georgia is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Clark (Marilyn) Stout; and her partner of more than two decades, Guy Ervin Estep.
She is survived by daughters, Kristine L. (Mark) Crowl and Kim E. Gibbons; granddaughters, Jennifer M. (Jeff) Gromada and Emma K. Gibbons; siblings, Mary (Roger) Willette, Anne Staley and Jack Stout; as well as grandsons, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her extended Estep family members.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Avondale United Methodist Church, where she was a member. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Avondale United Methodist Church or NorthCare Hospice House.
