Local authorities and emergency services were dispatched to a multi vehicle accident on Highway 75 and 723 Rd. on December 27, 2023.
Mark Talley of Rhome, TX in a pilot vehicle crossed the center line and was in the wrong lane of traffic traveling the wrong way, struck a vehicle driven by Irvin Larsen of Treynor, IA and then spun striking a third vehicle driven by Joyce Strobel of Humboldt.
Witness statements along with dash camera footage from a trailing vehicle confirms Talley was completely across the center line.
According to police reports an estimated $4,000 in damage as done to the Talley and Strobel vehicle and $5,000 in damage was done to the vehicle driven by Larsen.
Talley was not transported to the hospital. Larsen and a passenger along with Strobel were all transported to Nemaha County Hospital by Auburn Rescue and Nemaha Rescue with suspected serious injury. No updates have been given.
According to witnesses traveling through the area both lanes of the highway were closed and traffic was backed up for several miles.
