She was baptized at home on December 27, 1925. Her education began at rural district number 81 and ended upon graduation from Falls City High School in 1943. In July of that year, she took employment as an office clerk at Southeast Nebraska Telephone Company and in January of 1944 she became a bookkeeper at the local Ford agency where she worked until December of 1951.

After her marriage she joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 20th and Towle Street, where she taught Sunday school for thirty years, served as an usher and was a part of the women’s organization for over fifty years where she also served as district chairman for two years. She also spent a number of years as a Pink Lady at the hospital.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Fred and Kenneth Wittrock and their wives, sister-in-law, Lydia Poitner and a brother-in-law, Neal and his wife Helen.
