She attended Muddy Center elementary school, Pioneer Country School for Junior High and graduated from Shubert High School in 1940. On October 10, 1940, she married Ray Kenneth Stevicks of Dawson. Ray passed away May 1, 1986, and she moved to Falls City to live with her daughter Jackie. She went back to work at Victory Village in the laundry and for Jones Brook Estates.
