Phyllis Jeannette Stratton was born October 8, 1926 in Brownville, Nebraska. She was one of five children of John E. and Edythe E. (Parker) Stratton. Phyllis attended school at Dawson, Middleburg rural school, and Honey Creek, where she graduated in 1944.
On December 9, 1944 Phyllis married Wilbur J. Constantine at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church near Barada, Nebraska. They established their home on the family farm northeast of Falls City, Nebraska and were blessed with three children: Susanne, Darrell, and Juanita. The children were born within 21 months of each other.
Wilbur passed away on September 3, 1948 and Phyllis moved her family into Falls City, where she held various jobs.
Phyllis married Ernest Luebs on September 19, 1971. They continued to live in Falls City for a couple of years and then moved to Safford, Arizona where Phyllis’s mother, father, and sibling resided. While in Arizona she worked as a medical transcriptionist at Mt. Graham Hospital for 15 years until retiring.
Phyllis and Ernie loved to travel and camp. After Ernest passed in 2005 Phyllis moved back to Nebraska where she resided with her son Darrell and his family until moving to Terrace Heights.
Phyllis loved going out to dinner every Sunday with her son and daughter-in-law and looked forward to family gatherings. She enjoyed working on puzzles and reading in her spare time.
While still living in Auburn, Phyllis became ill and was admitted to Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was there she passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the age of 94 years, 3 months, and 13 days. In addition to her husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters Elnora Mack, Arlene Johnson, Ruth Brammer, and son-in-law Larry Brazau.
Phyllis is survived by her children and spouses Susanne Brazau of Wichita, KS; Darrell and Judy Constantine of Auburn; Juanita and Jim Riggle of North Platte; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother David and wife Jo Ann Stratton of Safford, AZ; other relatives and friends.
