Jean F. Quigley Campbell, born October 10, 1926, went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2020, at the age of 94. She was born in Falls City, Nebraska, to parents Howard and Ruth Quigley. Jean was raised in Falls City with her 11 brothers and sisters. At an early age, she learned to play the Violin and Piano. She had an amazing talent of playing the piano “by ear.” She never learned to read music; she would hear a song she liked and sit down at the piano and play the song. After World War 2, Jean moved to Oregon and married Jess Campbell on April 21, 1946, in Eugene. They made their home in Cottage Grove. They had two children Susan and Terry. Jean worked as a Bookkeeper for several local businesses in Cottage Grove, including Grove Maid Dairy, KC Drug, and retiring from the Dentist’s office of Dr. Jack Dunham. Jean was an active member of the Methodist Church, belonging to Women’s worship teams and the Church Choir. She was also a long time member of the singing group The Joy Bells. Jean enjoyed Golf and Bowling. She was on a bowling team for many years. Jean enjoyed traveling, spending vacations in Hawaii and Mexico. After Jess retired in the 1980s, they returned to Falls City, NE. She was happy to be “back home” and was involved in several church groups and the American Legion Auxilliary.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Jess and son Terry Campbell. She is survived by her daughter, Susan and her husband Curt, grandsons, Ethan Davis and his wife Teresa and Ethan’s Sons Cruz Davis, Cruz’s son, Jeans Great-Grandson, Uriah, and Wyatt Davis and Grandson Elan Davis, his wife Christal and Elan’s daughter Sofia Davis. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Landon Quigley and his wife Doris and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Jean returned to Eugene, OR in 2016 to be closer to family and now she is “back home” again. Dorr and Clark Funeral Home have made arrangements. Burial will be in the Rulo Cemetery on December 16 at 10 am
