Wilma Judith (Judy) Wing Bauman

Wilma Judith (Judy) Wing Bauman was born on January 26, 1942, to Wilma Wilhelmina (Brown) Wing and Alfred Theodore (Ted) Wing in Falls City, Nebraska; the ninth of their nine living children. She attended and graduated from Falls City High School in 1960, before marrying the love of her life, Herman Jacob Bauman on Sunday, May 29, 1960.

Judy fell in love with Herman Bauman at the Christian church working in the church youth group together, and was blessed when his family moved to the house literally across the street, on “Wilson Street.” Seven years her elder, Herman was her life-long love and soul mate. They became husband and wife after Judy graduated from Falls City High School, by the minister who had baptized both of them into Christ, Pastor Jim Cunningham. Their faithful love produced one daughter, Jennie Lynn in 1969, after patiently waiting on the Lord’s perfect timing.

Married to a soldier and strong believer in serving his country, Mrs. Bauman moved with her husband as he served in the United States Army National Guard at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and later to Little Rock, Arkansas, St. Louis, Missouri, and Omaha, Nebraska after accepting a position with the Missouri Pacific Railroad which merged with Union Pacific Railroad.

While always taking the time to help others, Judy was a hard-working homemaker, providing the best love and care for their daughter, working as the elementary school nurse, attending field trips, walking her daughter to and from school, attending and teaching VBS together, teaching Sunday school, and taking her daughter to piano lessons. She was a joy-filled, loving wife and mother whose joy exemplified the love of Jesus Christ.

It was after moving to Omaha, Nebraska, where Herman and Judy were asked to help plant a new church congregation in Western Omaha. They served faithfully at Kingsway Christian Church for over 20 years, as Herman served as an Elder, and Judy was the director of the Nursery, and #1 lover of all the little babies, which she referred to as “Jesus’ little lambs.” She faithfully shared Jesus’ love with the youngest of those attending Kingsway, singing and teaching each little soul about their Lord, Jesus Christ. Besides loving and caring for God’s precious blessings, Judy loved to sew, attend “King’s Daughters,” ladies group craft nights, Bible studies, and the 4×4 fellowship groups.

On May 8th, 1993, Judy and Herman’s daughter Jennie married her best friend and love of her life, Curtis Lee Cuozzo at Kingsway Christian Church in Omaha, Nebraska, and almost a year later Judy experienced the Greatest JpyY of her life when she became the Grandma of Baby Cuozzo in 1993, Stephen Curtis in 1994, Branden Lee in 1995, Micah Aiden in 1996, and Jessie Lynn in 1999. These grandchildren were her greatest treasure, and gave her Joy beyond measure.

On July 6, 2018, Branden married Hannah Joy in Raleigh, North Carolina, making her the loving Grandmother of six!

Judy moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to live with family in 2014 after the promotion of her husband Herman to Heaven, on December 9, 2013. She was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in May of 2019, which metastasized extremely quickly throughout her body. She fiercely fought her battle, and has completed her race, ending her battle with a relentless cancer attacking her body, and receiving her ultimate “promotion” within her savior’s perfect love, timing, and mercy.  She is now in her balcony surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1), being greeted and surrounded by loved ones, but most importantly, seeing Jesus face to face.  One of her greatest desires (along with her husband Herman) was to be alive on earth at the return of Jesus to catch up his church in the air (I Thes. 4:17), but God took her home in His perfect timing, and as the Great Physician, healed her body in her “real home.”

Judy was preceeded in promotion to Heaven by her parents Alfred (Ted) Wing, and Wilma (Brown) Wing, her parents-in-love, Orville Guy Bauman, and Alberta Harriet (Brazau) Bauman, her husband Herman Jacob Bauman, Brother Robert (Bob) Wing and Sister-in-law Romaine, Brother Byron (Buck) Wing, Sister in law Betty Wing (wife of her brother Ted Wing), Sister and Brother-in-law Shirley (Wing) and Roland Hermann, Sister and Brother-in-law Arlene (Wing) and Gene McGinnis, Sister-in-law Betty Jo (Bauman) Brzon (Herman’s Sister), two grandchildren, Baby Cuozzo and Micah Aiden Cuozzo, as well as several precious cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Judy is survived in this earthly life and will be terribly missed by her daughter Jennie, son Curt, and four grandchildren, Stephen Curtis, Branden Lee, Jessie Lynn, and Hannah Joy, all of Raleigh, North Carolina. She also leaves behind her Sister-in law Bonnie Wing (wife of her brother Byron/Buck), Brother Ted Wing, Brother Jack and Sister-in-law Patti Wing, Brother Ron and Sister-in-law Kay Wing, Sister and brother-in-law Barbara (Wing) and Roger Hahn, Brother-in-law, Samuel Brzon, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless brothers and sisters in Christ.

The family of Judy Bauman invites you to join them with a time of visitation on Saturday, July 20th, 2019, from 9:30 am – 10:00 am, followed by a “celebration of life service” beginning at 10:00 am at: Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, 2303 Harlan Street, Falls City, Nebraska, 68355.

Internment will be at Steele Cemetery in Falls City, Nebraska, following a brief grave-side service.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to remember and celebrate Judy’s life of loving and teaching Jesus’ little lambs, His precious children, by donating to “Niños de México,” a Christian mission focused on caring for orphans, (James 1:27) and encouraging growth in the local church (Acts 2:47). Please help these brothers and sisters serving and teaching the children of Mexico about their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
