Walter A. Pohlman, Jr.

Walter A. Pohlman, Jr. 66, of Hiawatha, KS, passed away June 12, 2019, at his home. He was born February 12, 1953, at Grand Island, NE to Walter A. and Twilla (Anderson) Pohlman, Sr.

Walter enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1973 and he was honorably discharged in 1977.

He married Barbara Schawang on July 3, 1982, at Falls City, NE.

Walter was raised in Lincoln and graduated from Northeast High School in 1971. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he returned to Lincoln and worked road construction. When married the couple established their home in McCook, NE where he worked in the oil fields. They moved to back to Lincoln in 1985 where he worked for Anderson Construction, before being employed as a foreman for Apollo Steel. They moved to the current family home in 2010 where he worked for Triple C then for Wenger in Sabetha until retiring on February 23, 2016. He was a metal fabricator and master welder most of his life. He was a member of Good News Assembly of God Church and the NRA.

Walter is survived by his wife, Barbara of Hiawatha, KS, sons, Aaron Fritz and his wife Pheng of San Diego, CA, Matthew Pohlman and his wife Ashley and John Pohlman both of Falls City, father, Walter A. Pohlman, Sr. of Lincoln, brother Mike and his wife Valerie of Brady, NE, sisters, Charlene Schippert and her husband Larry, Roxanne Kotchwar and her husband Terry and Linda Turek all of Lincoln and fifteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and sisters, Cheryl Pohlman and Cathy Kraus.

His funeral was held on Monday, June 17, 2019, at 10:30 AM at Good News Assembly of God Church with Pastor Tim Boatright officiating. Interment was in Rulo Cemetery. Military Graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-6:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home
