Lynne McCullough, 78, of Falls City, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Falls City, surrounded by family. She was born on Dec. 18, 1938 at Chicago, IL, to the late Oscar and Lucille (Nieske) Holste
On Oct. 7, 1967 she married William “Bill” McCullough at Englewood, CO. He passed away Jan. 2, 2002.
Lynne attended Chicago Public Schools and graduated from Palatine (IL) High School in 1956. She attended Northern Illinois University and graduated in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. During her 30-year teaching career, she taught in Illinois, Colorado and Nebraska. She retired from teaching in May of 2001 after teaching at North School for 14 years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Falls City and was an officer of the Nebraska Retired Teachers Association.
Lynne is survived by sons, Corey (Brooke) and Mike (Missy) McCullough, both of Falls City; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Hogue and Rev. Paul Weinert officiating. Interment at Steele Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, Falls City.
