IVAN HINRICHSEN

Ivan Lee Hinrichsen, 83 of Dawson, passed away on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at Community Medical Center in Falls City. He was born on Oct. 18, 1933 to John and Mildred (Reis) Hinrichsen in Springfield, NE.

Later he moved to Pawnee City, with his four brothers and two sisters.  When he was out of school, Ivan became a brick mason. Then from 1955-1957 he was drafted to the United States Army and went to Germany, where he was a Marksman Rifle Expert. After returning home Ivan  went to Lincoln and worked as a brick mason and later he retired from Brick mason.

Ivan met his future wife  Charleen Flanagin  and they were married March 15, 1958.  To this union they had two children, Roger Lee and Debora Dee.

Ivan was a great family man, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and just spending time with his family.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Hinrichsen,  brothers, Melvin (Wanda) Hinrichsen,  Lester Hinrichsen, Douglas Hinrichsen, Sr.,  and great-grandson Greyson Shubert.

Ivan is survived by his wife Charleen of Dawson; son, Roger (Darcy) Hinrichsen of Dawson, their four children, Tanya (Brent) Shubert of Falls City, Troy (Debra) Hinrichsen of Brownville,  Terra (Tyler) Frank of Falls City,  and Tiffany Hinrichsen of Dawson; daughter, Debora (Chad) Salyers, their three children Mitchell Brehm of Fremont, NE, Krista (Rick) Livingston of Cedar Bluffs, NE, Rachel Salyers, husband Jude Olney of Hartford CT; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Morgan,  Dylan, Gavin, Everett, Maelynn and Madison; brother, Jack (Shree) Hinrichsen of Pawnee City, sisters, Luree (Jim) Ullman, DuBois, NE, Betty (Dave) Flanagin of Pawnee City; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2017 at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Officiating Pastor Dan Gifford. Visitation on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.
