ELVA M. EICKHOFF

Elva Mae Eickhoff, 103, of Falls City, passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017. She was born April 29, 1913 at Hiattville, KS, to the late William Oliver and Mabel (Freedman) Baker.

Elva was raised at Hiattville and moved to the Reserve area with her parents in 1929. On Sept. 3, 1933 she married Herman J. Eickhoff at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, six miles north of Falls City. He passed away on May 25, 1983. When married the couple established their home seven miles north of Falls City and farmed in the Falls City and Verdon area until 1971, when they retired and moved into Verdon.  She moved to Falls City following the death of her husband in 1983.

 She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, six miles north of Falls City, member of the LWML and Altar Guild, and was charter member and past president of Falls City Zone of LWML.

She is survived by her sons, Dearl (Alice) Eickhoff, of Falls City, and Jerry (Karen) Eickhoff, of Lincoln; sister, Doris Quisenberry, of Kansas City, MO, eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.

Elva was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Elaine Nadine in infancy; son, Gary; brothers, Lester, Ershal, James and Wayne Baker; and a sister, Arleta Jacobs.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan.12, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, six miles north of Falls City, with Rev. Daniel Gifford officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Dorr & Clark Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
