EUGENE D. ROBINSON

Eugene D. Robinson, 90, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. He was born to Byron and Elizabeth (Saylor) Robinson on Feb. 8, 1925 in Hiawatha, KS.

He grew up on a farm near Sabetha, KS, and attended a rural country school. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on Aug. 8, 1945.

Eugene was united in marriage to Darlene Etter on June 10, 1951 at the Sabetha Congregational Church. To this union three children were born. They lived in Sabetha for more than seven years. Eugene was a carpenter and they moved to various places before retired in Adams. After Darlene passed away on Dec. 4, 2012, Eugene resided at Madonna.     

He is survived by his children, Julia (Ron) Hudson, of Malcolm, Darcia Mealhow, of Pleasant Dale and Ronald (Marilyn) Robinson, of Lincoln; six granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Emma Rita Pyle, of Hiawatha, and Elba (Carroll) Snyder, of Sabetha; nieces and nephews.

Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, and brother, Cedric Robinson.

Graveside services were held Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 at the Heim Cemetery in Dawson. Memorials to the People’s City Mission, of Lincoln. Wherry Mortuary, of Humboldt, was in charge of arrangements. www.wherrymortuary.com
