BILLY DEAN MURPHY

Billy Dean Murphy, of Falls City, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, one day after his 71st birthday, at his home at Falls City Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was born in Falls City on Oct. 30, 1944, the son of Lloyd Raymond Murphy Sr. and Kathryn Lucinda Sargent.

He was raised in Falls City and attended school through the 8th grade. He lived in southeast Nebraska all his life, working construction mostly and also as a farm hand. He loved listening to music and playing the guitar. He spent most his time outdoors; Billy enjoyed fishing and camping. He cherished his little dog, “Gizmo.”

Billy first entered Colonial Acres in Humboldt and, in April of 2007, due to ongoing illness, he entered FC Nursing and Rehab.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.

Billy is survived by brothers and sisters, Judy (Buddy) Cochran, of Shubert, Bobbie (Arland) Schroder and Kelly (Shawn) Waggoner, both of Eagle, Leslie (Val) Hoy, of Macon, GA, Scotty Hoy, of Humboldt, Kalina (Cliff) Strode, of Camdenton, MO, Diana (Jesse) Perez, of Houston, TX, Mary Ann Mendez, of Nebraska City, Terry (Anne) Hoy, of Omaha, Rocky Hoy, of Plano, TX, Roger (Roxanne) Hoy, of Dunbar, and Orville (Dixie) Hoy, of Falls City; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A private family burial was held at Heim Cemetery in Dawson.
