Kim E. Bechtold, 57, of Falls City, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 at Lincoln. She was born Aug. 29, 1959 at Falls City, to the late Ronald and Sandra (Stednitz) Sailors.
Kim was raised in Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1977. She married Jay Bechtold on Sept. 5, 1981 in Hiawatha, KS. When married, the couple established their home in Everest, KS, and she worked at Everest Hospital. They were later divorced in 1991.
She moved back to Falls City in 1991 and worked for the nursing homes in Falls City; beginning in 1993, she worked at Ketter Manor and also did independent in-home health care for the elderly. She was most recently employed at Head Start for 10 years and also drove the FC Aquatic Center shuttle bus during the summer months.
She is survived by a son, Jay Bechtold, of Falls City; daughters, Amanda (Cody) Jones, and Kody (Brett) McKim, of Falls City; brother, Randy (Barb) Sailors, Falls City, and Kevin (Sherry) Sailors, of La Pine, OR; sister, Rhonda Kirkendall, of Falls City; grandchildren, Ryker Jones, Mallory Bechtold, Paylen Jones, Dayken McKim, Brantley Jones and Bryson McKim; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Kim is preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Kelsey, in infancy.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, with Rev. Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. A private family inurnment will be at Harris Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the funeral home.
