FRANCES SCHULENBERG

Frances Schulenberg, 98, of Lamar, CO (formerly of Falls City), passed away on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016 at Lamar. She was born on Feb. 12, 1918 at Deschler to the late Claude and Ollie (Kohler) Claus.

She was raised at Concordia, KS, and graduated from Concordia High School in 1935. On May 4, 1938 she married Leonard Schulenberg at Falls City. When married, the couple established their home in Falls City and then lived in Hiawatha, KS, Mound City, MO, Nebraska City and Lincoln. When living in Falls City she worked as a bookkeeper for Monarch Engineering and she and her husband ran the Sears Catalog Store in Mound City until retiring and moving back to Falls City. Mr. Schulenberg passed away on June 16, 1993. She then moved to Lamar to be with her daughter.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Altar Society.

Frances is survived by her children, Larry (Patricia) Schulenberg, of Council Bluffs, IA, Mary Frances Forney, of Lamar, and John (Pat) Schulenberg, of Savannah, MO; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Adeline Chote; and brothers, James, Claud Jr. and Robert Claus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Falls City with Fr. Thomas Dunavan presiding. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, Falls City. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
