Eugene “Mouse” Strauss, 72, of Falls City, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Lincoln.
He was born on April 17, 1944, to the late Harold and Evelyn (Zentner) Strauss.
Mouse served in the National Guard Falls City Company B.
He married Regina Nichols at Falls City in 1967 and they divorced in 1984, and then, on Aug. 29, 2003, he met the love of his life, Anita Nolte, and they have been together ever since.
Mouse was raised in Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1962, and then attended the Colorado School of Mines, where he studied architecture. When married, the couple established their home in Falls City and he was a mechanic, farmer and truck driver his whole life. He worked for various dealerships in Falls City as a service arranger. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Anita Nolte of Falls City; sons, Scott Strauss and his wife, Nichole, of Falls City, Troy Strauss and his wife, Candy, of Gardner, KS, and Nicholas Strauss of Falls City; step-daughters, Jessica Nolte of Omaha, Sara Ruiz of Falls City, and Amanda Ruiz of Topeka, KS; brother, Wayne Strauss of Pagosa Springs, CO; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Nicholas Nolte.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Christ Lutheran Church in Falls City, with the Rev. Daniel Gifford officiating. Interment followed at Maple Cemetery at Salem.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested family choice memorials.
