Karen “Katie” McAfee, 71, of Falls City, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at Omaha. She was born June 9, 1943 at Mound City, MO, to the late Harold and Iris (Loucks) Caton.
She married Bob McAfee on Jan. 4, 1963 at Mound City.
Katie was raised at Mound City and graduated from Mound City High School in 1961. After graduation, she worked at the dry cleaners in Mound City. When married, the couple established their home in Falls City and she worked at Milam’s Green House and Mary’s Appliance for many years. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of many bridge clubs.
She was a member of First Christian Church at Falls City.
Katie is survived by her husband, Bob, of Falls City; son, Mike McAfee, of Falls City; daughter, Misti Lehmkuhl, of Hiawatha, KS; brothers, Ben (Sue) Caton, of St. Joseph, MO, and Dick (Jackie) Caton, of Warsaw, MO; Bill Caton, of Maryland; sister, Kay New, of Liberty, MO; grandchildren, A. J., Trey and Kellen McAfee, Madison and Dalton Lehmkuhl; great-grandchildren, Lily and Annabelle McAfee
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Weinert officiating. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
