To honor Beverly’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Beverly was born July 11, 1942, in Omaha, the daughter of Marvin and Irene (Schultz) Niemeyer.  She graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 1960.  Following high school, she worked for Bankers Life in Lincoln.  On Feb. 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to Garry E. Meyer.  They lived in Gering for six years and Omaha for the next eight years before making Grand Island their home in 1978.
Beverly loved taking care of her family and, after her children were in school, she worked part-time for Walden Books.  In her spare time she loved reading, cooking/baking, gardening/canning, playing golf, wintering in Arizona, quilting and knitting and wine tasting with her friends.  While living in Omaha, Beverly was active with the Mrs. Jaycees.  She belonged to a book club and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and Riverside Golf Club.  Her greatest treasure was her family and time spent with grandchildren.
Survivors of the immediate family include her husband of 52 years, Garry Meyer; their children, Melissa (Tom) Howes of Sioux Falls, SD, and Tim (Michelle) Meyer of Elkhorn, NE; grandchildren, Jessica Howes, Claire Howes, Cole Howes, Grayson Howes and Sydney Meyer; and her sisters, Kathleen Brown of Troy, NY, Marva Clutter of Phoenix, AZ, Gayle Dirkes of Richland, WA, and Bonnie Puntney of Kennewick, WA.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents.
