EDWIN KRATZ

Edwin E. Kratz, 85, of Falls City, passed away June 8, 2016 at Falls City. He was born Dec. 31, 1930 at Morrill, KS to the late Bert and Prudie (Chandler) Kratz.
Edwin was raised in Richardson County. He farmed and then was drafted into the Army.
He entered into the U.S. Army April 9, 1952 and was honorably discharged on March 26, 1954. While serving he earned an Occupation Medal and a Nation Defense Service Medal. Upon his discharge  he returned to farming in Richardson County and Brown County, KS.  He later worked for Frontier Homes and then was a janitor for the Falls City Public Schools. He retired in 1995 and moved to Ottumwa, IA, later returning to Stella in 2013 and then to Falls City in 2014.
He is survived by daughter, Bonnie (Donnie) Kean of Falls City and son, Larry Kratz of Yukon, OK, nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
 He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Barbara Kratz, and brother Robert Kratz.
A graveside service will be held, Monday June 13 at 10:30 A.M. at the Steele Cemetery in Falls City, NE with Reverend David Lockard officiating.
