CAROL RIESCHICK

Carol L. Rieschick, 92 of Falls City, passed away, Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016 at Falls City. She was born Dec. 21, 1923 to the late Henry and Alma (Winkler) Gerlt.  

Carol was raised at Falls City and moved to Hamlin, KS, with her parents for a few years where she graduated from Hamlin High School in 1942. On July 29, 1942 she married Milton A. Rieschick at Hiawatha. He passed away Jan. 29, 1975. The couple established their home in Falls City and then moved to San Pedro, CA in 1944. They returned in 1945 and lived here since. After the death of Mr. Rieschick, she and her son, Roy, operated Rieschick Well Drilling until she retired in 1988.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Falls City and the Auxiliary of Nebraska Well Drillers Association, she was a past President and Secretary-Treasurer.

Carol is survived by her son, Roy (Kathy) Rieschick, of Falls City; daughters, Lois Rieschick, of Springfield, NE, and Lucinda Rieschick, of Falls City; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Donald; daughter, Linda Walton; and grandchildren, Eric Rieschick and Heidi Drew.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20th and Towle Sts., with Rev. Andrew Chavanak officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
