PAUL ‘DEANY’ HAYES

Paul “Deany” Hayes, 66, of Falls City, passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 at Falls City. He was born to the late Howard and Betty (Riddle) Hayes on Feb. 22, 1949 at Macon, MO.

On Jan. 10, 1970 he married Cheryl Wisdom at Falls City and they were later divorced. He then married Mary Lea Marrs on Aug. 16, 2000 at Falls City.

Deany was raised in Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1969. Following graduation he became employed by Millworks at Falls City and then was employed by the City of Morrill, KS, where he also owned the café. He was then employed by Pepsi Co. and then by Flying ‘L’ at Falls City. He retired due to being injured on the job in 1994.

He was a member of the Brethren Church at Falls City

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lea, of Falls City; son, Scotty (Jessica) Hayes, of Lincoln; daughters, Tonya (Drue) Miller, of Falls City, Michelle (Stacy) Potter, of Overland Park, KS, Tanya (Art) Dean, of Falls City, and Amy Kershaw, of Arizona; brothers, Leroy and Larry Hayes, both of Falls City; sisters, Helen Mandery and Linda Waggoner, both of Falls City, and Vicky Lowe, of Rulo; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael in infancy; and a sister, Debra Lynn Lear.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Viewing began Sunday afternoon.
