Mary Shubert, 93, of Falls City, formerly of Shubert, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 at Falls City. She was born March 2, 1921 at Nemaha at the late Jess and Alice (Wolfe) Kennedy.
She was raised in Nemaha County and graduated from Shubert High School in 1938. She married Melvin “Bud” Shubert on Oct. 29, 1939 and the couple established their home northeast of Shubert. She was a farm wife and homemaker her entire life, moving to Falls City in September 2009. Mr. Shubert passed away Jan. 9, 2000.
Mary was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and C.W. Club of Nemaha, the Shubert Christian Church, taught vacation Bible School, and also served as church pianist and Deaconist.
She is survived by a son, Ronald (Sandy) Shubert, of Shubert; daughter, Carole (Alan) Williams, of Bethany, MO; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Greyson Shubert; brothers, Norman, Clyde, Jim, Jesse, Charlie and Lowell; and a sister, Loretta.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at the Shubert Christian Church. Interment will be in Prairie Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home of Falls City.
