Mary Virginia Meredith Canterbury Kelley, 100, formerly of Lincoln, died Jan. 1, 2014 in Falls City. She was born May 19, 1913 in Nebraska City to William and Lou Ella (McLaughton) Meredith.
Mary was raised in Nebraska City and graduated from Nebraska City High School. She spent most of her remaining years in Lincoln. Mary married Joseph T. Canterbury in 1932. He passed away in 1946. On July 5, 1949 she married Merwyn C. Kelley who passed away July 17, 1998.
She was a member of East Lincoln Christian Church. She worked many jobs before becoming employed with the City of Lincoln as an account clerk. She enjoyed her family and traveling.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Hauschild, Lincoln, Nancy (John) Schluntz, Republican City, and Mary Jo (Emmett) Tangeman, of Falls City; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sons-in-law and four brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Fairview Cemetery in Lincoln ( 84th & Adams Sts.), with Pastor Jeff Laney officiating.
