Diana L. Kottich, 58, of Falls City, NE, passed away December 14, 2014 in Falls City. She was born June 15, 1956 in Falls City to the late Orville A. and Helen A. (Constantine) Merz.
On August 20, 1977 she married Stephen Kottich in Falls City.
Diana was raised in Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1974, she attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development. The couple established their home in Falls City when married. She taught at various elementary levels from 1979 until she retired in January of 2012. She enjoyed teaching, reading, shopping or anything that included her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Diana is survived by her husband, Stephen Kottich of Falls City, daughters, Erin Waller and her husband Doug of Falls City, Aliza Stremlau and her husband Nick of Lincoln, NE, sister, Vicky Froeschl and her husband Matt of Falls City, brother, Larry R. and his wife Nancy Merz of Kearney, NE, sisters, Betty Malcolm and her husband Richard of Falls City, Marilyn Ramsey and her husband Keith of Valley, NE, sister-in-law, Darlene Merz of Stromsburg, NE, and four grandchildren, Stella and Sam Waller and Harrison and Parker Stremlau. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Duane Merz.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20th and Towle Street with Reverend Andrew Chavanak officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to the Richardson County Cancer Fund or the Richardson Foundation.
