Ethel Nitzsche, 74, of Rulo, passed away Friday, Oct. 31, 2014. She was born Nov. 24, 1939 at Table Rock to the late William and Vera (Waters) Furrow.
She married Samuel A. Cockerham on Aug. 19, 1971 at Auburn. He passed away Jan. 19, 1980. On May 1, 1980 she married Wilbur Nitzsche at Oregon, MO.
Ethel was raised at Table Rock and after her schooling she provided elderly and handicap care in Omaha. When married to Mr. Cockerham the couple established their home in Salem. When she married Mr. Nitzsche they established their home in Rulo. She was a homemaker and did various jobs in an and around the Rulo area.
Ethel is survived by her husband, Wilbur, of Rulo; son, Samuel (Justina) Cockerham, of Rulo; daughter, Karen (Howard) Carriger, of Manchester, IL; brother, Eugene Waters, of Table Rock; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Charles Furrow.
Her funeral will be held from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014 at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, of Falls City. Interment will be in Rulo Cemetery. Open visitation will begin Monday at the funeral home.
