Phyllis Dorste Reimer, 82, passed away Monday, Oct. 27 2014.
Phyllis received her nurses training at Creighton University and took her first position as an RN with Dr. Kleyla in Omaha. After working for several years in Omaha she moved to Denver, where she met and married her husband, Cece Reimer. The 1960’s brought two beautiful children into their lives. Mark and Anne were both born in Dallas but they soon moved to Atlanta where the family settled in 1964. The Reimers were one of the founding fathers of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Phyllis was a nurse at Dekalb General, now Dekalb Medical Center, for 15 years. Upon her retirement she became the wedding planner at Holy Cross, served on the social committee and the parish council. In addition to her passion for community service, Phyllis had a true love of the arts. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, music, and the theater. She was a veracious reader and avid movie goer. Her joy of life and incredible humor are her legacy.
She was predeceased by her parents, Floyd and Josephine Dorste, of Rulo. She will be remembered by her family as the beloved wife of Cece Reimer of over 55 years, loving mother of Mark A. Reimer and Anne Reimer (Mark) Craig, and beloved grandmother of Nicolas and Elizabeth Craig. She is also survived by her brother, Bill (Dorothy) Dorste, of Omaha; sister, Shirley (Richard) Guilliams, of Manville, TX; three nephews; five nieces.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Friends of Saint Martin de Porres food pantry.
