Marjorie L. (Mrs. Robert) Knisely, 89, passed away peacefully at her residence in Mission Viejo, CA, on Jan. 8, 2014.
Her three children were at her bedside when she died. Marjorie was born in Falls City in 1924 to Art and Blanche Simmons. She was raised in Falls City and lived here until 1945. She was married for 66 years to Bob Knisely, who preceded her in death.
After her husband returned from service in the Army Air Corps in 1945, they resided in Shubert, Waterloo, IL, and Manhattan, KS, before moving to Nebraska City in 1954. She lived in Nebraska City until 2012.
Marjorie is survived by her three children, Robert L. (Linda), Aliso Viejo, CA, Rita, Mission Viejo, and Jo Ann (Bob) Meredith, Mission Viejo, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a nephew.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Polly.
Besides her family, she most loved dogs, all Schnauzers, and Nebraska football.
A family celebration of her life will be held in Nebraska City in the summer. She will be interred at Wyuka Cemetery, next to her husband.
