DENNIS BAUMAN, SR.

Dennis L. Bauman, Sr., 80, of Falls City, passed away Oct. 6, 2015 at Falls City. He was born July 10, 1935 to the late William and Violet (Cochran) Bauman.
Dennis was raised at Arago and following his schooling at Arago and Fargo he started farming with Clarence Bauman before enlisting in the U. S. Army. He served in the U. S. Army from 1957 until being honorably discharged in 1959.
When he was discharged the from the Army, he married Linda Thomas on Nov.28, 1959 She passed away May 7, 2015. The couple established their home in Kansas City where he worked construction with his brother, Vincent. They moved back to Falls City in 1964 to farm with Clarence full time. They moved into the present family home in 1967 and he lived there until 2014 when he moved into Falls City Health Care Community. He retired from farming in 2009. He loved to farm, go deer, coon and coyote hunting and made homemade wine.
Dennis is survived by his sons, Dennis (Stephanie) Bauman, Jr., Mark (Jenny) Bauman, and Jim Bauman and special friend Cindy Campbell, all of Falls City. Daughters: Terri (Carl) Messner, and Angie Bauman and special friend Kevin Sopoci, all of Falls City; sisters, Evelyn Bast of Surprise, AZ and Joan Wilson of Lexington Park, MD; 14 grandchildren and
nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by His parents, wife, brothers, Lawrence, Jerry, Richard and Vincent; sisters, Mary Ann Koerner, Delores Gatschenberger and a granddaughter, Jessica Cook.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rulo with Father David Oldham officiating. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
The family will received friends following the rosary. A Parish Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
