Tiger boys crush Tarkio

A dominant first half propelled the Falls City Tigers to a 63-23 first round victory Friday over the Tarkio Indians in the Bishop LeBlond Holiday tournament at St. Joseph, MO.

FC led 23-4 after the first quarter and 43-8 at the halftime to put the Indians away early.

Tiger senior Tyler DiGiacomo scored six points in the first quarter and led the team with 13 for the game. Senior Mitchell Harling and junior Jack Hartman finished with 11 and 10, respectively.

FC, now 5-1, faces Chillicothe (4-2) Saturday at 6 p.m. in one of the semifinal games. Chillicothe advanced past Mid-Buchanan, 55-53, in overtime Friday night on a buzzer-beater jumper from senior Tyler Moore, who scored all six of his points in the extra session.

On the other side of the bracket, Bishop LeBlond advanced past Rock Port, 66-44, and East-Buchanan were 67-57 winners over University Academy Charter. LeBlond and East Buchanan wrap Saturday’s action with a scheduled 9 p.m. tipoff. 

Monday’s championship is set for 6:30 p.m. and the third-place consolation game is set for 3:30 p.m. Monday.
