Board votes to add baseball at FCHS

District 56 School Board members voted 4-2 Monday night in favor of adding baseball to the list of boys sports offered at Falls City High during their regular monthly meeting at the Middle School.

The Board heard from audience members on both sides of the topic before Board President Scott Hollens made a motion to add baseball to the list of boys sports offered at the high school, beginning in the spring of 2015. The motion was seconded by board member Scott Huppert, who added the recommendation of tabling the addition of a girls sport until a later date.

Following some discussion on the motion, the votes were cast and baseball became a reality.   

Voting in favor of the action item were board members Hollens, Huppert, Ed Harris and Tedd Gilkerson; votes against came from John Martin and Teresa Olberding.
